BDS Newcastle

Chris Oconnor.jpg

Chris graduated in 2008 from Newcastle Dental School, and spent the following 6 years, predominantly in general practice, in County Durham.

In 2014, Chris left general practice and started work as a ‘Clinical Academic’ at Newcastle Dental School. In this role, he spent time undertaking clinical research and teaching restorative dentistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Chris most recently held the role of Deputy Degree Programme Director, for the Newcastle University Restorative Masters programme.

Chris is well known and respected in the dental community, having lectured for over 10 years in the North East on many aspects of dentistry, teaching and mentoring thousands of other dentists along the way. Chris runs a very popular nationwide course, teaching other dentists how to better place white fillings.

Chris is the ultimate dental geek and also has a passion for inventing new dental equipment and developing new treatment workflows for patients. The focus of these developments is always high-quality patient-centred care and making dentistry easier and more predictable for both patients and fellow dentists.

Chris has spent a long time learning about dentistry, but what he enjoys most is meeting new people, getting to know their own unique dental problems and trying to find the best possible solution for them
